Strips USC Of 2004 National Championship (Undated) -- The book is
finally closed on the Reggie Bush saga at USC. The Bowl Championship
Series announced it has stripped the Trojans of the 2004 national
championship they won by defeating Oklahoma 55-19 in the 2005 Orange
Bowl. Bush, the team's star running back, was later found to be ineligible
by the NCAA for receiving impermissible benefits.

Burress Released From Prison (Rome, NY) -- Former New York Giants
wide receiver Plaxico Burress is a free man. Burress was released
from the Oenida State Correctional facility three months shy of his
two-year sentence for attempted criminal possession of a weapon. The
Super Bowl 42 hero accidentally shot himself in the leg carrying an
unlicensed gun in a Manhattan nightclub.

Hire Mark Jackson As Coach (Oakland, CA) -- The Golden State Warriors
have hired former player and current television analyst Mark Jackson
to be their new head coach. ESPN reports Jackson's deal at six-million
dollars over three years with a team option for a fourth. Jackson
played 17 NBA seasons at point guard with the Knicks, Clippers, Pacers,
Nuggets, Raptors, Jazz, and Rockets.

Fines Childress $150K (Charlotte, NC) -- NASCAR has fined 65-year-old
Richard Childress $150-thousand and placed him on probation for allegedly
putting Kyle Busch in a headlock and punching him several times after
Saturday's Truck Series event at Kansas Speedway. The Childress Racing
owner was upset that Busch bumped team driver Joey Coulter following
the race.

MLB Star Lenny Dykstra Charged In Los Angeles (Los Angeles, CA) --
Former major leaguer Lenny Dykstra has been charged with multiple
felonies, including grand theft auto and drug possession. The L.A.
District Attorney's Office said yesterday the former Mets and Phillies
star allegedly tried to lease high-end automobiles with fraudulent
credit information. Dykstra's also been accused of possessing of cocaine,
Ecstasy and synthetic growth hormone. If convicted, he faces up to
12 years in prison.
